Five Ways to Achieve Successful Software Implementation

2. Communicate.

Change is hard for most people – especially when their jobs are directly affected. It’s impossible, therefore, to communicate too much with your staff while you implement a new system. And as much as you think you do share information with them, chances are it isn’t enough.

Be open and honest. Share why you think this change is critical to your organization’s success. Deliver regular progress reports, and post important events (training sessions, go-live, system updates, etc.) well in advance.

And most importantly, LISTEN to those who do not necessarily feel the same way. Give them the opportunity to vent, and quite possibly, to offer alternative ideas that can help the project succeed.

Can you predict the employees who will most likely resist changes you attempt to implement? How can you help them buy into the process?
