On September 13, 2006, we announced via certified letter to all clients that we will not be able to support our FundSense DOS software product beyond December 31, 2009 (or once 2009 W2s are processed).
We made this announcement because the FundSense database engine, Pervasive, is also on its way to obsolescence. The current database engine is Version 8 from Pervasive Software, which recently announced that Version 8 will reach its end of life and supportability by the end of 2006. Future versions of Pervasive’s database will no longer be compatible with FundSense’s aging architecture.
A recent survey of the market indicates that you may need to consider a course of action more quickly than even that notice indicated. We have found that Pervasive 8 has become increasingly difficult to find and purchase, and it is highly likely that within the next 30 to 90 days, Pervasive 8 will no longer be available at all.
If you are running FundSense on Pervasive 7 (or any older version), we strongly recommend that you purchase a copy of Pervasive 8 from us immediately. If you must replace your FundSense servers, Pervasive 8 will be the only version that will be compatible with your new system. Please make sure that you can continue to use FundSense while you consider your next accounting software purchase.
