UniFund Welcomes Spencer - East Brookfield Regional Schools

The Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District has recently awarded a contract to UniFund LLC for the implementation of its BudgetSense financial and human resource management system.  Spencer-East Brookfield is a 2,000-student district located in Worcester County, Massachusetts. 

Superintendent Dr. Reza Namin, who was recently appointed this past July, has laid out broad challenges to take the central MA district to new levels of achievement.   One of the barriers he found was that his internal financial and personnel systems lacked the automated workflow capabilities he had experienced in prior districts.    One of the districts headed by Namin previously was another UniFund client: the Ralph C. Mahar Regional District in Orange, MA.   Ralph Mahar was included as one of the best high schools in the U.S. in 2009, according to U.S. News & World Reports.*   

As Roger Pontbriand, Business Administrator, put it, “Our previous software was a very basic accounting system that was acquired as the lowest quote several years ago. Ultimately, we found that you get what you pay for… the system lacked automated purchasing functions, and it was difficult to use to obtain timely financial reports.” 

After a formal RFP process, the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School district selected UniFund’s solution for its built-in workflow automation, ease of reporting, and increased functionality to support the district’s broad goals for greater productivity.  UniFund is excited to partner with the district on this exciting project.
