RevenueSense® Personal Property determines the assessed value
of a business’s tangible personal property - equipment,
furniture, supplies, machinery, livestock, etc. - enabling
the value to be calculated for tax billing. An organization’s
entire personal property inventory can be entered into one record
and then easily accessed for calculations and flexible billing options.
Accurate Maintenance and Accountability
The Personal Property Assessment function stores general information
(business name, address, account number, etc.), as well as inventory,
assessment and tax information. Utilizing this function, uniform
procedures can be applied for accurate maintenance and accountability
of all owned and leased personal property.
Flexible, Customizable Valuation System
Personal property valuation methodologies are flexible and completely
customizable at both the summary and detail levels. Parameters
can be defined so the assessed value can be calculated using
a percentage of the appraised value and the depreciation tables,
or manually
entered
by the user. The depreciation tables can be easily defined and
linked to a record. Once all pertinent information is entered
and the appropriate
tax, levy and exemption codes are applied, the system computes
the assessed value and displays a detailed breakdown of the values.
Unlimited Tax History and Exemptions
Utilizing the module’s adaptability, users can access full and
unlimited history per tax year, as well as revision number. During
the calculation of taxable values and personal property taxes, unlimited
multiple districts and personal exemptions can be considered.
Automatic Exemption Renewal
One of the system’s timesaving features includes the renewal
of tax exemptions each year without additional data entry. Users can
credit taxpayers with an exemption automatically with no re-keying
of pertinent information.
Posts to Accounts Receivable
After an assessment of personal property inventory is completed,
the tax due is calculated and posted to Accounts Receivable and Cash
Collection for billing and printing of bills.
Extensive Billing Options
The system supports any type of billing installments, such as annual,
semi-annual, quarterly, etc. In addition, users can instantly calculate
a tax bill for a customer any time after valuations are entered or
changed. Also, if all inventory is not available at the time of assessment,
a partial billing can be posted and the adjustment can be billed
when an adjustment to the assessment is made. Personal property tax
bills can be customized for printing and printed on demand.
