At the three 2009 Idea Summit events, we announced the release of an exciting new software module, the Grant/Project Tracking system. Grant / Project Tracking was developed in direct response to your demand for an integrated tracking system for multi-year projects and grants, to replace the traditional method of using an expanded general ledger.
The Grant/Project module addresses several primary benefits for local government and educational organizations:
- The application supports maintenance of separate accounting department functions, such as for federal grant administration, via sub-ledgers and security restrictions.
- Grant/Project Tracking provides a tool for elementary job costing for projects such as a building addition, or a sidewalk improvement effort. Track budgets, tasks and assignments by phases that you define.
- Easily track and report multiple year budgets, revenues and expenditures for grants, specialized programs, capital improvements, and more.
Grant / Project Tools for Tighter Control of Grant and Project Accounting
- Enter transactions as usual, and at the same time, update project sub-ledgers. Grant / Project Tracking integrates with current BudgetSense applications, including Purchasing & Payables, Warehouse, Payroll, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger.
- View Grant / Project summary data across prior and current fiscal years, as well as the project’s budget life span, expenditures, funding sources, encumbrances, current revenue, estimated revenue, and actual revenue.
- Define project start and completion dates, renewal dates with alarm settings, funding sources, and operating status.
- Track indirect costs, and generate reimbursement invoices.
- Store project-specific documents (original applications, compliance terms addenda, activity evaluations, permits, and comments) for access by staff with security-approved access.
