Switching to a new financial information system can be
disruptive to an office. Accounting records and revenue systems must
remain in your control and fully operational, payrolls have a zero
margin or tolerance for error, and tax bills have to go out on time.
Adding to those concerns is the resistance that many people have
to change. At UniFund, we appreciate those concerns and take extra
steps to reassure your staff of a positive outcome. Our installation
and training approach is designed with all these factors in mind.
We keep you in control during the critical periods of converting
to your new systems. And when you are comfortable with your new environment,
we point out software features and functionality that can help you
get the job done better, more accurately, and in less time. It all
starts with a smooth installation of your software, based upon UniFund’s
standardized hardware and software specifications.
Both RevenueSense® and BudgetSense® can be deployed in either
traditional client-server or thin-client server-based environments.
We recommend thin-client environments for larger installations that
require access from remote locations. The determination of environment
is normally made in conjunction with your overall investment decision.
Prior to software installation, our IT consultants organize a pre-install
meeting with you to review system specifications, location, security,
and other related matters. Based on formulated plans, we proceed to
install, configure, and test Microsoft® SQL Server®, BudgetSense,
and RevenueSense software programs, and configure all user workstations.
Lastly, we review backup and antivirus configurations, and all details
related to Terminal Services, Citrix, Active Directory and Server
2003 with your staff. IT retainer plans in support of RevenueSense
and BudgetSense IT infrastructures are available to supplement client
IT resources.
Through various conversion services and a number of different software “bridges,” UniFund
links our Windows® programs to your legacy system. It allows you
to run both systems simultaneously and allows legacy operations to
be cross-walked into your new programs. This feature often comes in
handy for projects with prolonged installation timelines, allowing
financial, personnel, and land management data to flow
into one system for true organizational control.
